Here is an interview and behind the scenes look at Karen and Mika Kaeja in rehearsal for their co-created duet No Doubt Behind Us, which will premiere at Older & Reckless in March. This is the first live stage duet that this mother-daughter pair will have created and danced together, and Mika has been very involved in the creative process.
The gifted and multi-talented ten-year-old Mika Kaeja trains at both the Randolph Academy ad the National Ballet School. As a member of the Kaeja family, Mika has been in their dance films for several years, and recently begun performing in some of the works of Kaeja d'Dance.

1,2,3 - An Unusual Dance Performance includes one duet, two solos, and three dance films featuring performers Caroline Niklas Gordon and Lucy Rupert (Blue Ceiling Dance). The show runs from August 21-23 at 8pm and at 3pm on August 24.
Above is some rehearsal footage of Caroline and Lucy dancing to deconstructed Bach harpsichord concerto in the duet Untisch. "The title translates from German as anti-table, but wildly uncharts the territory of human emotions, tearing into the way self-reflection can become both a ridiculous and dangerous cliff-face."
We also strongly encourage you to check out Britt Randle's (creepy) experimental and award-winning movement film featuring Caroline. Eve: Stranger Than Paradise "harkens back to the silent films of Fritz Lang with a sharp contemporary edge."
ProArteDanza's rehearses with choreographer Emily Molnar, named as one of Canada's next generation of "ballet sensations." Her work and that of Robert Glumbek and Kevin O'Day will be featured during the Season 2008 performance, October 8th - 11th at Premiere Dance Theatre.
